About Trio Pedrell

After years of training with their respective solo instruments at different national schools such as the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (Bcn) Musikeon (Valencia) or Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía (Madrid), and the international Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler (Berlin) and Hochschule für Musik und Theater Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (Leipzig), they started their path together within a new era marked by a deep interest in chamber music.

They have received advice and master lectures from teachers such as Jonathan Brawn, Luis Fernando Pérez, Natalia Prischepenko, Ralph Gotoni, Claudio Martínez Mehner, Vera Martínez Mehner, Kennedy Moretti, Pierre Réach, Wayne-Foster Schmidt, Abel Tomàs or Arnau Tomàs. They have also received artistic orientation from violinist and composer Jordi Cervelló.

Selected from more than 500 groups, they performed a debut concert at the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid with great success within public and critics.

In October and November 2015, they toured around Spain, visiting cities such as Almeria, Zamora, Zafra, Segovia, Burgos, Oviedo or La Coruña.

They recently completed their Master studies in Chamber Music at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien in Hannover with Professor Markus Becker. They combine their artistic side with pedagogy and are invited to give master classes in chamber music at the Conservatory of Music Isaac Albéniz in Girona and the conservatory “El Musical” in Bellaterra.

For the year 2016-17 they are preparing a tour that will take them to the most important cities in China and will also play within the Festival Klavierplus at the Holzhausenkonzerte in Frankurt, among other projects.

They carry the name of Felip Pedrell to reintroduce in the collective memory the figure of this Catalan composer, musicologist, editor and ethnomusicologist. He was one of the fathers of the Spanish nationalist music that exerted a great influence on people such as E. Granados, I. Albéniz, M. Falla, J. Turina and R. Gherard among others who unfortunately have remained in the shade.
